"We are pleased to announce that Catholic Democrats's board member, James Roosevelt, Jr., and president, Dr. Patrick Whelan, will be presenting on two timely panels at this conference.  Jim will speak on the healthcare panel along with Sr. Carol Keehan, president of the Catholic Hospital Association.  Patrick will be presenting on a panel entitled, "The Catholic Vote: 2008, 2010, 2012" along with Mark Stricherz, author of the book, Why the Democrats are Blue: How Secular Liberals Hijacked the People's Party (2007).

Dionne, political scientist Fr. Thomas Reese, pollster John Zogby, NCR's Vatican Correspondent John Allen, and two former Vatican Ambassadors, Thomas Patrick Melady and R. I don't know what Steele thinks he is doing...or hmmm...does he really know?  Yes, HE DOES! 'Playin' it'!
I don't know how you feel....but this one feels like a HUGE KICK IN THE STOMACH...AND A KNIFE IN THE BACK...AT THE SAME TIME!

Pray, hope, and don't worry!

Get out there and get your work DONE!

May

Where did the time go? Wasn't it just Christmas?  Here we are at the beginning of May... Mother's Day! Gosh!

See Fr. Mark Kirby's post...

And a reminder...The Year of the Priest is almost finished. Let us promise to continue to pray for all priests, all Bishops, the hierarchy, and most especially for our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVII.

We have an aweful lot of prayer work to do, let us not be overwhelmed or afraid; let us move forward with our hope and trust IN HIM!

In this month of May let us learn to lovingly and joyfully accept HIS Will for our lives asking for much grace!

Happy Mother's Day!

THE BEAUTY OF MOTHERHOOD

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! Our life, our sweetness, and our hope!

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley, of tears.

Turn, then, most gracious advocate,thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O sweet virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

"Do not let anything afflict you, and do not be afraid of any illness, or accident, or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Do you need anything else?"
-Words of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Saint Juan Diego
