More on the S.F. "Busted Bingo"

If it weren't enough that this was almost going to take place...one more horrendous item found-according to this event announcement--Fr. Meriwether's parish MHR benefited from the first "Bingo" event: "Our first beneficiary will be the Sisters' Grant Fund and Ellard Hall."

Bingo bust: The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco

Scroll down...

The infamous devotees in drag have been calling out the numbers at the church's Ellard Hall for the last two months, but when church higher-ups learned of the game, they pulled the plug. Maybe it was the Sisters' past spats with the church over their annual Easter bash. Or maybe the emcee who was supposed to work bingo that night -- "Peaches Christ" -- was just too much. Whatever the case, the church isn't talking except to say that the game is out of the hall. Sister Barbie Mitzvah, chair-nun of the bingo bash, said the group was "stunned and deeply saddened" by the ouster.

More-Not All Publicity Is Good Publicity

Unfortunately, some people caught wind of the fact that they were holding it in the fellowship hall of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church -- and notified the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, which has a long history in regards to the Sisters. As a result, it seems, the Archdiocese of San Francisco has has put the kibosh on using the church hall, just in time for the November 2nd event.

I don't see anything here. So I guess the faithful Catholics on the internet might have "caught the fire of the Holy Spirit" and made the difference--starting with Mark Shea and his reader that alerted him of the upcoming events (See-Thursday, 10-26-06) "Unleash the Power of the Blog" ....but shhhhhhhh!! We have to be quiet while we go about the FATHER'S BUSINESS!

Losing the venue is bad enough. However, according to my phone call, the likelihood is high that the event will be canceled -- not just because of the loss of venue, but because the event is apparently being used for negative pre-election publicity.

Nah....don't think so...but you could be right since Mrs. Pelosi is a friend to this area....hmmmm...maybe the word was put out there..."don't stir up the Christians"!?

I'll update with further details as I receive them.

I will do the same! You can count on it!
