Prop 8 - Amazing! It passed because of US Bishops!
I personally don't see the love of Jesus Christ reflected in the political action of any church working to strip away the civil rights of neighbors in what must be remembered is a secular, not fundamentally religious, government. Government can't be religious if society is pluralistic. I mean, which religion can be reflected with disaffecting others. Isn't religious fundamentalism what we're fighting against in the middle east? I just don't see stripping away civil rights or human dignity as representative of the words of Jesus Christ. "That which you do to these, the least of my children, you do unto me." "Love thy neighbor as thyself." Are these not the words of Jesus Christ?
