[...]For this to be a reality, we must be honest about how deep some of the hurts and difficulties currently go; and we must refresh and reanimate our sense of what our Communion ought to be contributing to the whole ecumenical spectrum of Christian life. We cannot ignore the fact that what is seen to be a new doctrine and policy about same-sex relations, one that is not the same as that of the vast majority at the last Lambeth Conference, is causing pain and perplexity. We cannot ignore the pressures created by new structures that are being improvised in reaction to this pain and perplexity, pressures that are very visible in the form of irregular patterns of ministry across historic boundaries.
WHAT?!Someone once said about our Communion, in relation to its internal strains and differences, 'What an astonishing number of possibilities God has given you for loving strangers and enemies!' Can we echo that? If so, by God's grace, we have it in us to be a Church that can manage to respond generously and flexibly to diverse cultural situations while holding fast to the knowledge that we also free from what can be the suffocating pressure of local demands and priorities because we are attentive and obedient to the liberating gift of God in Jesus and in the Scripture and tradition which bear witness to him.

Dear Right Reverend and Most Reverend Bishops of the Anglican Communion:
At the Lambeth Conference of 1908, your brothers of a saner age offered an unequivocal condemnation of the evils of contraception, abortion, and other degrading immoralities. One century later, in marked contrast, one quarter of the churches of the Anglican Communion are boycotting the Lambeth Conference because of homosexual activism in your ranks, capitulation to every form of political correctness, declining numbers, and the abysmal state of Anglican discipline throughout your church. This contradictory situation is entirely of your own making - it is not the work of the Holy Spirit - and there is really only one proper response that you could make to this desperate situation; namely, repentance and a return to true and full communion with the Church from which you were divorced by your founder.
With all due respect for persons and motives, the historical record of Anglicanism's doctrinal surrender has clearly prepared the way for the problems you are now having, problems which get increasingly worse as time goes on. The Anglican Church was created by an act of rupture of unity from the Church that Christ founded and its apostolic succession in 1534. It capitulated on the fundamental question of divorce and re-marriage in 1536; presided over thousands of unconscionable martyrdoms between 1534-1729; broke the centuries-old Christian consensus on contraception in 1931; took the unprecedented step of ordaining women priests beginning in 1944; caved in on abortion in 1967; allowed women's episcopal ordination in 1989; and endorsed openly gay clergy in 2003.
And to be blunt about it, just last week in London, two Anglican priests were "married" by a third Anglican priest in a public ceremony at the threshold of your conference - to make an obvious statement - and not a one of them has been called to account for his sin. How can this church be called a "communion" with anything other than the spirit of the age - any age? My purpose in listing these anomalies is simply to make the point that it's time to stop playing church and start getting back to church.
The present state of decline leaves little hope of your church's survival as a recognized body of Christian believers. A significant portion of your own bishops are so fed up with the betrayal of both doctrine and discipline that they are having a parallel conference in Jerusalem as you meet in the staid halls of Lambeth. This fissure will leave the Anglican Communion permanently damaged and demoralized. Not only that, but the contrast between the precipitous decline of the Anglican Church and the vibrancy of the Roman Catholic Church is nothing short of astounding. While Pope Benedict is in Sydney at World Youth Day evangelizing the future - Anglicans are wondering whether they have a future.
As you gather for your 14th Lambeth Conference I ask you to honestly face the truth of the appalling mess that your church is in and address it like true men and women of Christ, unafraid to confront the moral decay and doctrinal disorder in your ranks. The Anglican ship is sinking, not because God has abandoned you, but because almost five hundred years ago King Henry VIII cut you adrift in a turbulent sea of confusion, called human respect. We, as Roman Catholics, stand on the Rock of Peter and would welcome you generously back into the hold of his ship, assured that your homecoming would immensely strengthen the Body of Christ for the work of evangelizing the world. In the United States there are already five Anglican Rite parishes so a precedent already exists for receiving Anglicans back into true and full communion with the one Church of Christ! Undoubtedly, the Roman Church has enough life preservers for all our separated brethren when you are finally unable to hold off the onslaught of the winds and the sea.

"For a lot of us as kids, having faith is like sitting on Santa's lap; you pray because you want things and you want outcomes. But instead when you're faced with death, you don't really die, you get to go to a cooler place with maybe a sterner teacher. It's not that big a leap and you're going to see a lot of friends there."
Our prayers continue for you Tony...but we ask your intercession now.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.

(June 28, 2008) -- In a letter to Archbishop Raymond Burke, members of the Catholic Media Coalition expressed their deep gratitude and best wishes to a cleric they called, “A bishop after God’s own heart.” The long-rumored appointment of Archbishop Burke as Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, the highest ecclesial court, came on June 27th, the feast of St. Cyril of Alexandria. Mary Ann Kreitzer, CMC president, commented that, “It was a particularly appropriate day to announce Archbishop Burke’s appointment. St. Cyril battled the Nestorian heresy that denied the divinity of Christ. “That heresy thrives in our modern culture,” Kreitzer said. “Many Catholics no longer believe in the divinity of Christ because of the bishops’ failure to teach and anti-Catholic works like the DaVinci Code. Against that sad background, Archbishop Burke stands out as a champion of Catholic doctrine, a clear and articulate defender of the faith.” CMC expressed particular appreciation to Archbishop Burke for his great courage and witness for:
· Publicly defending the Holy Eucharist: In 2004 Archbishop Burke said he would deny Holy Communion to Senator John Kerry and other Catholic politicians who support abortion. He also admonished pro-abortion Catholics in the pew to refrain from receiving Communion.
· Resigning as Chairman of the board of Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Foundation when they refused to disinvite radical pro-abortion singer Sheryl Crow to head up a benefit concert.
· Confronting the scandal of Coach Rick Majerus publicly supporting abortion and embryonic stem cell research.
· For excommunicating Rose Hudson, Elsie McGrath, and fake bishop Patricia Fresen for an act of schism in attempting the ordination of the two women.
· Advancing the Institute of Christ the King to restore the Traditional Latin Mass and promoting solid vocations to the priesthood.
· Fostering the Marian Catechist Movement founded by Fr. John Hardon to teach the authentic Catholic faith based on fidelity to the pope and the doctrine of the Church.
“We are grateful, “ Kreitzer said, “for having such a faithful apostle in the United States. Not only has Archbishop Burke given us hope, he has given us an example of how to speak the truth in love. The members of the Catholic Media Coalition wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for your faithful service to the Church in the United States. There are many troubling situations that have injured the faith and trust of Catholics in this country. We particularly regret the failure of so many bishops to vigorously defend the teachings of the Church which contributed to the sex abuse scandals and to other major and ongoing problems.
We wish to especially acknowledge your courage in publicly defending the Holy Eucharist from sacrilege, for resigning as Chairman of the Board of the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Foundation, for excommunicating the women who invalidly attempted female ordination, and for confronting the public scandal of Coach Rick Majerus’ outrageous statements. But even more than these, we thank you for advancing the Institute of Christ the King, developing vocations, and fostering the authentic Catholic faith through the Marian Catechist Movement.

Bai Macfarlane - Update
Vatican promotes Justice. Advocacy group asks U.S. Church to enforce own divorce laws.

'V/T' to Mark Shea...Earlier this year, marriage advocate, Bai Macfarlane, publicly asked the Arlington Diocese to apply canon law to protect a wife and children in a scandalous divorce situation. Macfarlane sent her plea to Rev. Robert Rippy, the Arlington Diocese Defender of Justice. Fr. Rippy was provided public records showing a professed-Catholic husband impregnated an adulterous partner and was living with her and their baby. The children of his marriage (who are financially devastated with their mother) are forced to spend overnight visits with their father and his adulterous partner.
Macfarlane is the director of Mary's Advocates, upholding marriage in light of no-fault divorce. She says, "When the church in the U.S. remains silent as professed Catholics abandon their families using the civil divorce routine to pursue their individualist goals, the public is taught that the Catholic Church condones the practices of routine civil divorce."

"He is accused of keeping various ceremonial robes, including the robes of senior clergymen, in his Manhattan office, and of hiring two monsignors to accompany him during his business dealings.
Once, according to the complaint, he even asked a monsignor to change out of his robes and put on the robe of a more senior clergyman to create the false impression that Follieri had close ties to the Vatican.
The monsignors are not accused of any crimes. Messages for comment left for Archbishop Pietro Sambi, the Vatican's U.S. ambassador, and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, were not immediately returned Tuesday."

They jumped on the bandwagon because it matches their worldview, or pads their pocket. This issue has generated great wealth on both sides of the argument, and I need to say up front I have absolutely no financial interest in climate. I am paid the same regardless of whether man is involved in climate change or not, and I have never taken a dime for a speech on the subject."
