The centre, which cares for children with Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism, was in the media spotlight two years ago when it considered using VeriChip's device in a similar study on its patients, a plan that has since been put on the back burner.

Plan A: Keep “Plan B” Out of Catholic Hospitals
from Catholic Media Coalition's, Pres.-Mary Ann Kreitzer:
Your Excellencies:
I am writing with a profound sense of sorrow at your recent decision to allow Catholic hospitals in Connecticut to administer the abortifacient Plan B to women who are the victims of rape. It is simply inaccurate to state that "administration of Plan B pills in this instance cannot be judged to be the commission of an abortion because of such doubt about how Plan B pills and similar drugs work." That statement is simply untrue. Not only does the manufacturer of the Plan B regimen admit that one of the drug's modes of action is to prevent implantation of a developing baby, but the FDA states it as well. The way Plan B and other abortifacient "contraceptives" work is well-known. As a natural family planning teacher and crisis pregnancy counselor, I've been explaining it to women for years. While one doesn't know the mode of action in a particular case, it is certain that many babies are killed when these drugs turn the womb into a hostile environment. To allow Plan B because how it works in a particular case is unknown is like saying one can shoot a gun in a dark room because it's possible no one is there.
Please, Your Excellencies, withdraw this flawed statement that will corrupt our Catholic health care facilities by making them accomplices in murdering children. If the government can coerce complicity in Plan B abortions, coercion of later term abortions cannot be far behind. We need you to stand up to a government that has long-since abandoned the Constitutional principle of freedom of religion. In addition, consider the corrupting influence on Catholic doctors, nurses, and pharmacists giving a drug proven to cause early abortions. Please don't let yourselves be known as the bishops who washed their hands like Pontius Pilate as they sent the innocent ones to death, executed, like Jesus, for the sins of others.
Please rescind your statement, instruct Catholic hospitals not to dispense this drug, and fight the government's coercion in the courts. It would be better to close every Catholic hospital in Connecticut than to cooperate with this evil decision.
Sincerely in Christ,
Mary Ann Kreitzer

Feast of the Archangels - St. Michael, St. Gabriel, & St. Raphael
PRAYERS TO ST. MICHAEL
Saint Michael, Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
O Glorious Prince of the heavenly hosts and victor over rebellious spirits, be mindful of me who am so weak and sinful and yet so prone to pride and ambition. Lend me, I pray, thy powerful aid in every temptation and difficulty, and above all do not forsake me in my last struggle with the powers of evil. Amen.
SAINT GABRIEL PRAYER
O God, who from among all your angels chose the Archangel Gabriel to announce the mystery of the Incarnation, mercifully grant that we who solemnly remember him on earth may feel the benefit of his patronage in heaven, who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
SAINT RAPHAEL PRAYER
Glorious Archangel Saint Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners. I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the "medicine of God," I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul and the ills that afflict my body. I especially ask of you the favor {mention your petition} and the great grace of purity of prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Common Ground Initiative - Cardinal Avery Dulles -“Common Ground, Solid Ground,”
[snip]However Cardinal Dulles, widely considered one of America’s top theologians, said it was never Cardinal Bernardin’s intention to invite attacks on doctrine.
He said Cardinal Bernardin advocated for respectful listening, not doctrinal compromise. Additionally, Cardinal Bernardin believed polarizing disagreements frequently center on pastoral, not doctrinal issues.
Keep reading...I'm still pondering this article/lecture....hmmmm.During the lecture he referred to the pastoral instruction “Of the Means of Social Communication,” issued in 1972 by the Pontifical Commission for the Means of Social Communication.
“This instruction, while dodging the thorny question of dissent, advocated a responsible exchange of freely held and expressed opinion among the people of God, so that all may arrive at a loving consensus of truth under the guidance of the magisterium,” Cardinal Dulles said.
However, during the lecture, the cardinal criticized American Catholics who reject church teaching.
While they see the church as their home “… they do not really believe that the church can issue binding decisions about questions of truth and morality, and for this reason they contend that individual Catholics have a right to dissent, at least in their thoughts and private utterances,” he said.

Giuliani Cites Bible on Personal Life
Again...everybody always leaves out the other actual lesson HE said and taught...."I'm guided very, very often about, `Don't judge others, lest you be judged,'" Giuliani told CBN interviewer David Brody. "I'm guided a lot by the story of the woman that was going to be stoned, and Jesus put the stones down and said, 'He that hasn't sinned, cast the first stone,' and everybody disappeared.
"It seems like nowadays in America, we have people that think they could've passed that test," he said. "And I don't think anybody could've passed that test but Jesus."

Miller Officers Receive S&M Photos; Boycott to Extend Beyond Sunday's Event
The accompanying memo says:
It is hard to believe that if you knew exactly what kind of event the Folsom Street Fair is that you would want Miller to be sponsoring it. That is why I am sending the enclosed photos of this event (taken from previous years) to you.
In the outside chance you are not disturbed by these photos, please show them to your mother, wife and daughters.
I trust that you will do the right thing and withdraw sponsorship of this event immediately. Rest assured that we will not walk away from this issue. The public is rallying to our side, emboldening us to stay in this fight for as long as it takes.
"Over 200 religious organizations spanning six faith communities were sent a letter yesterday asking them to join us in the boycott. If S&M Miller doesn't pull its sponsorship, we will announce a game plan on Monday that will make the company regret it ever decided to insult Christians."
We have to PRAY FOR HER AND ALL THAT HAVE HARDENED THEIR HEARTS!
Dear LORD, send your HOLY SPIRIT and Archangel Gabriel to open their hearts to hear HIS TRUTH and repent.

US Conference of Bishops Asserts New Appointee is Pro-Life
I always ask...because folks the "train has left the station". I was told this by a nun in this same parish. I've seen it, been touched by it (my children in their CCD program), and after much prayer and sacrifice we attempted to bring this to the attention of the Pastor. It was also quite costly-emotionally, spiritually, and physically.

More on Harry Potter
However, Mr Logan is concerned that the books' setting in the world of witchcraft could be detrimental to any Christian message.
"The Potter epic encourages kids to be curious in an area that God forbids," he said. "It is also an encouragement to the vulnerable and under-age to learn more of paganism and the occult, which have a track record of emotional and spiritual damage."

The USCCB Responds to Hiring of Domestic Policy Dir.- K. Saile
Lutheran Services staffer named USCCB domestic social policy director
One Catholic media outlet reported after Saile's appointment was announced that she "was a 2006 dinner-party speaker" for WIN, "a group dedicated to empowering pro-choice women.
"The dinner in question, she told Catholic News Service Sept. 18, involved about seven women at a private home for a discussion of faith and politics."The issue of abortion was raised," Saile said, "and I challenged people that it was not mutually exclusive to be socially progressive on issues like health care, poverty and housing and to be pro-life."
The train continues down the track....woooowwooooo! = (
Private affair or not that's not the issue. Shall we revisit what the problem is? Let's read together...shall we..?!
So they were just sitting around like an Oprah event sharing their thoughts and ideas? Didn't they do that already by planning this event?
"WIN women meet for networking events, resume swaps, happy hours, and panel discussions—all geared towards mentoring and helping women along the road to success. WIN women also volunteer on political campaigns, at nonprofit organizations, and on various event committees through WIN."
Let's not forget what the purpose is of this group--to NETWORK with like minded women! I don't care what they "talked" about...just her affiliation is MAIN issue!
"They are a unique opportunity to contribute to, learn from, and network with accomplished and up-and-coming women who share your passions—all while helping each other along the road to success."
I want some PEACE & JUSTICE NOW!

Pope Benedict XVI
Pope warns Catholic theologians against arrogance
In a sermon at a private mass on Sunday, Benedict said theologians could know everything about the history of the Scriptures and how to explain them, but know nothing about God.
